Driving Bilateral Innovation at the Japan-India Economic Forum

Hosted by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and co-organized by key institutions including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Keidanren, and India's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the forum served as a premier platform to advance economic and technological cooperation between the two nations. Amidst a shifting global landscape, Japan and India are forging a robust partnership built on complementary strengths, steadily deepening collaboration across critical domains such as economic security, innovation, and human resource development.

Attended by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the summit convened over 150 Japanese and 80 Indian enterprises. Leaders engaged in dynamic discussions on critical themes poised to shape the future of the international community, including economic security, deep-tech innovation, talent mobility, energy, and critical minerals. The visit marked a pivotal milestone, propelling Japan-India economic and technological alliances into a new era, highlighted by the announcement of ¥2 trillion in investments and 129 collaboration projects between enterprises of both nations.
