OptQC Speaks at "Australia-Japan Quantum Workshop" to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

About the "Australia-Japan Quantum Workshop"

This workshop was held in conjunction with the signing of the "Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on Quantum Science, Technology, and Innovation between Japan and Australia" on the previous day, Monday, July 27, by Kimi Onoda, Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy of Japan, and Tim Ayres, Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science of Australia. The event also coincided with the visit of the Japanese government delegation led by Minister Onoda to Australia. 

With the support of the Quantum STrategic industry Alliance for Revolution (Q-STAR) and Quantum Australia (QA), this event served as a vital opportunity to translate intergovernmental agreements into concrete business and research activities within industrial and academic sectors, thereby accelerating the commercialization of technologies and the creation of use cases.

Overview of OptQC’s Presentation

OptQC participated in this workshop as an optical quantum startup originating from the University of Tokyo. During the presentation, OptQC introduced the development achievements of its first machine, "MoQuren," as well as "HIQALI," its membership initiative aimed at driving industrial applications of optical quantum technology and building a broader ecosystem, presenting proposals on the transition process from research outcomes to commercialization and the creation of new business opportunities through industrial collaboration between Japan and Australia. 

Furthermore, in the subsequent roundtable session, OptQC exchanged views with key stakeholders from industries, universities, and research institutions of both Japan and Australia. Discussion focused on the mutual utilization of each country's technological strengths and concrete actions toward future joint projects.
